📅 Data week: October 19 – 25, 2026

Demand cooled on the headline MCUs last week and moved into the supporting BOM: automotive-grade power, isolation and protection.

Last week in three signals

1. Automotive-qualified power led demand growth for a second straight week.
Seven of the ten fastest-rising devices carried automotive Q1 qualification, concentrated in step-down converters, LED and motor drivers and isolated gate drivers. Qualification timelines make these the slowest parts to substitute.

2. Isolation rose as a group, with inventory following.
Isolated ADCs (+28.60%), isolated amplifiers (+28.24%) and isolated gate drivers (+24.99%) all climbed, while visible channel inventory for isolators rebuilt for a second week. That pattern usually points to active replenishment, not shortage.

3. Protection and small-signal discretes saw price pressure for a second week.
TVS, ESD, Schottky diodes and small-signal MOSFETs again led price increases. They are cheap parts, but a missing one still stops a board.

What it means for sourcing this week

    • Confirm lead times on AEC-Q100 power parts before Q4 and Q1 2027 build plans lock.
    • Use the isolation inventory window for scheduled orders, after verifying date codes, origin and chain of custody.
    • Review TVS, ESD and diode coverage on active BOMs, and consolidate onto approved alternates rather than buying single MPNs at peak quotes.
    • If you have open requirements in precision or high-speed ADCs, check allocation status now; visible stock has fallen for two weeks.
    • Mature-node MCUs remain well supplied. This is the place to capture PPV, not to build safety stock.

    Market backdrop

According to the market brief supplied for the week, server CPU lead times have stretched to 24+ weeks as AI agent workloads push CPU-to-GPU ratios toward 1:1. Lead times for 48V power ICs remain at 32–36 weeks, and enterprise DDR5 is still rationed at 2.4–2.5× contract pricing. These claims have not been independently verified.
